Origins

Pizza-1 was bought from BuyVM on July 8, 2022, after having issues with the previous Hebergnity VPS.

It was named Pizza-1 due to the virtual server being sold as a "KVM Slice".

Purpose

Pizza-1 is regarded as the most reliable server in Project Segfault, and therefore takes on the mission-critical task of running the master authoritative DNS server (ns1.projectsegfau.lt) using Knot-DNS. It also runs many alternative frontends for the EU region, such as Nitter, Libreddit, Invidious (Backup), Quetre, Beatbump, BreezeWiki, Scribe, and Teddit.

Technical

Specs:

  • 40 gigabytes of storage
  • Unmetered 1gbps internet connection
  • 1 vCPU

The server runs Docker and connects to the master Portainer instance on Soleil Levant via the Edge Agent.

DNS: *.eu.projectsegfau.lt → 2605:6400:30:f79f:9e20:f366:f052:5a25, 107.189.12.96
